The Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) protects people and the environment from significant health risks.  EPA TSCA Title VI established formaldehyde emission standards identical to the California Air Resources Board (CARB) limits back in 2010 and became effective in 2017.  Certified factories must make a series of special process arrangements and production control from glue raw materials, production processes, to storage spaces to ensure only compliant products enter the product supply chain.

FSC-certified forests 

The Forest Stewardship Council (FSC) is an independent, non-profit, non-governmental organization.  It was founded in 1993 by a diverse group of representatives from environmental and conservation groups, the timber industry, the forestry profession, indigenous peoples' organizations, community forestry groups and forest product certification organizations from 26 countries.
FSC is the only globally recognized forest certification standards. The main mission is to promote environmentally appropriate, socially beneficial, and economically viable management of the world's forests via deliver trademark assurance and provide accreditation services.

Chain of Custody certification(CoC) tracks the FSC certified material through the production processes all the way to the store, such as furniture manufacturers, publishers, paper industry, printing industry, and all timber-related products industry, etc.
